Choosing the Right Lawyer

A Warning About Your Personal Injury Case

If you've been injured in any kind of accident - from a car wreck to a medical mistake - you need a lawyer on your side.  But not all lawyers are the same.  So how do you choose the "right lawyer" for your unique case?  Here are some critical questions to ask before you choose a lawyer:

Does my lawyer have the right knowledge and experience it takes to handle my case properly?

If you've been hurt in an accident, you need the right type of doctor to treat your specific injury.  You wouldn't want even the best general practitioner operating on a herniated disc. You should insist on the same kind of specialized expertise in the lawyer you choose. Ask your potential lawyers what else they do besides personal injury law.

Our attorneys represent a network of independent lawyers whose specialized expertise allows us to ensure that you have exactly the right lawyer for your case.

Is my lawyer's sole focus on personal injury law?

Our lawyers concentrate their practice in only a few specific areas of personal injury law.  Roger Turgeon concentrates in general liability cases such as car crashes, dangerous products, and unsafe premises.  Rob Gabler concentrates in medical negligence and premises liability cases.  Dave Bander concentrates in medical product liability and Social Security Disability cases.  And we have access to other top lawyers with other specialties as well. So no matter what type of personal injury case you have, we have a lawyer whose specialized experience exactly matches your needs. Ask your prospective lawyers if they limit their practice to personal injury.

Will my case be handled by a secretary, a paralegal, or a lawyer?

In the interest of efficiency, too many law firms rely on paralegals, secretaries, "claims handlers," and other assistants to perform most of the work on your case, including the critical initial consultation and settlement negotiations with the opposing insurance company. Typically, the firm calls a lawyer in only if it doesn't settle and has to go into litigation!

At Turgeon & Associates, one lawyer will take charge of your case from beginning to end.

Will I be able to talk to my lawyer about my case?

We provide truly personal expert service. You will always be able to talk directly with your lawyer from the initial telephone call until your case is totally resolved.

Our locations in Haverhill and Boston allow you to meet with your lawyer where it is most convenient for you – in or near your home town. If you prefer, we’ll come to you.

Licensed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine – State & Federal Courts

Getting the right lawyer…is no accident.
